Third-Party Financing is a financial arrangement made with a lending institution other than Polestar. This financing option offers the flexibility of selecting a loan agreement from a bank, credit union, or other lender that best fits your financial situation.

Services included with the car purchase

3 years vehicle servicing (up to 31,250 miles)
3 years connected services
3 years roadside assistance
3 years vehicle warranty (up to 60,000 miles)
8 years battery warranty (up to 100,000 miles)

Please note, the financial agreement and associated repayments are handled directly between you and your chosen lender, and not with Polestar. Also, these services included above are subject to terms and conditions provided by Polestar and not the lender.

With Third-Party Financing, you arrange a car loan agreement with a lender of your choice. This could be a bank, credit union, or other lending institution. Your monthly payment, deposit amount and the length of the agreement are negotiated directly with your chosen lender.

Once you sign the agreement with your lender, you make the deposit and commence the monthly payments in line with terms of the lender's agreement.

To purchase a Polestar car using Third-Party Financing, you'll need confirmation of credit acceptance; after applying and being approved for a loan from your chosen financial institution, you'll need to provide confirmation of this approval.

This can be a letter or an email from the lender, but the format can vary so you can upload it to your Polestar online account so that we can verify it.

We will also need your personal information such as your name, address, and contact information as part of the reservation process.

If your chosen finance plan involves a deposit payment made to Polestar, you will be able to do that via bank transfer before your handover.

This will depend on the type of finance plan that you have chosen with your provider and you should talk to them to understand the terms and conditions of any agreement.

No. You are responsible for insuring the car yourself.

In the event of an accident or car damage, you will be responsible for the repair of any damage. We can assist you in arranging an appointment with one of our Polestar Service Partners.

You should contact your finance provider to inform them. They will be able to provide you with details of what happens in different circumstances, including if the vehicle is declared a total loss.

Road fund licence is not included. As explained in the terms of your contract, as the registered keeper you will pay on time all licence fees (including road fund licence), charges (including congestion charges), taxes, parking fines, and other sums due relating to the goods or for their use.

Pure electric vehicles are currently exempt from paying road tax in the UK. Please note that this means the cost of road tax is zero, not that you don’t have to tax the car. You are still required to tax your vehicle in line with DVLA protocol.

Yes, you can drive your vehicle abroad. However, before travelling, it's important to check with your third-party financier to understand any restrictions or obligations they may have regarding international use of the vehicle. Additionally, remember to ensure your car insurance covers driving abroad for the duration of your trip.

If you want to end the loan agreement early, you will need to check the specific terms set out by your third-party financier. Typically, you can pay off the loan early, but there might be prepayment penalties or fees, depending on the terms of your specific loan agreement. These details should be outlined in your finance contract with your lender. Always reach out to your finance provider for exact information.

If you find yourself unable to keep up with your loan repayments, it's crucial to contact your third-party financier as soon as possible. Lenders usually have procedures in place to assist borrowers facing financial difficulties, and they may be able to adjust your payment plan or offer other forms of assistance. However, it's important to remember that failure to repay your loan could result in the repossession of your vehicle, depending on the terms of your agreement. Always ensure to maintain open communication with your lender about your financial circumstances.
