Polestar Choices (PCP) is a loan agreement from Volvo Car Financial Services UK Limited, trading as Polestar Finance, which is designed to be a straightforward way to drive a new car.

Included services

• 3 years vehicle servicing (up to 31,250 miles)
• 3 years connected services
• 3 years roadside assistance
• 3 years vehicle warranty (up to 60,000 miles)
• 8 years battery warranty (up to 100,000 miles)

You will agree an estimated annual mileage (6,000 – 25,000 miles) this will be used to determine the Optional Final Payment. At the end of the agreement (24-48 months) we'll write to remind you of the three available options. You agree on the amount of deposit (0-35%), and this figure combined with the agreement duration and Optional Final Payment will determine the amount of your monthly payment. You then sign the agreement, pay the deposit and then make the monthly payments.

Retain the vehicle by paying your optional final payment.

Return the vehicle, there’s nothing more to pay if the car is in good condition and within the agreed mileage terms.

Renew the vehicle, by part exchanging at a supporting retailer, using any excess part exchange value that is above the Optional Final Payment towards your deposit.

When applying for finance you will be required to supply certain personal information, as well as be able to confirm your identity.

You will need to provide a full UK driving licence. We may also ask you for a further proof of address dated within three months of submission of your application.

Acceptable proof of address includes bank or credit card statement, utility or council tax bills, or mortgage statements.

If you choose to pay the Optional Final Payment, you will own the vehicle at the end of your agreement.

No. You are responsible for insuring the car yourself.

In the event of an accident or car damage, you will be responsible for the repair of any damage. We can assist you in arranging an appointment with one of our Polestar Service Partners.

If your vehicle is written off you are required to carry on making your monthly payments until your insurance company has resolved the matter. Where your vehicle has been deemed a total loss your account must be settled in full once any insurance payout has been made. If you have taken out a GAP insurance policy you may be able to make a claim.

If your vehicle is stolen, you are required to carry on making your monthly payments until your insurance company has resolved the matter. If you have informed us that your vehicle has been stolen but it is subsequently found and returned, please obtain a letter from your insurance company to confirm this. If your vehicle is not recovered your account must be settled in full once any insurance pay out has been received.

Road fund licence is not included. As explained in the terms of your contract, as the registered keeper you will pay on time all licence fees (including road fund licence), charges (including congestion charges), taxes, parking fines, and other sums due relating to the goods or for their use.

Pure electric vehicles are currently exempt from paying road tax in the UK. Please note that this means the cost of road tax is zero, not that you don’t have to tax the car. You are still required to tax your vehicle in line with DVLA protocol.

You are free to take your vehicle abroad anywhere within Western Europe for a period of up to 28 days at any one time. If you would like to travel outside of Western Europe or for a period in excess of 28 days, you must first gain written consent from Polestar Finance.

If you withdraw from the agreement before the agreed date, you will need to pay the amount financed plus the daily interest charges. These amounts will be detailed in the payments section of your finance agreement.

You should carefully consider your ability to meet your repayments without undue difficulty within your agreement term. Once your order is confirmed you will receive an update as to when to expect your Polestar.

This depends on when you wish to amend or cancel their agreement. If you wish to amend prior to handover, you’ll need to restart your order journey.

Once the agreement is live, the only change that is possible is a change of payment date. We have an FAQ section on this under Manage Your Agreement. 

You can also withdraw from your finance agreement within the first 14 days.

Please call our Customer Service department on 0330 678 1548 within 14 days of receipt of the copy of your executed agreement from Polestar Finance. You should let the Customer Service department know that you would like to withdraw from your agreement. You will then need to confirm this in writing by sending a signed letter that includes your name, address, and agreement number to:

Polestar Purchase Plan is a simple purchase agreement that gives you the certainty of a fixed interest rate, and fixed monthly payments throughout the agreement. The initial deposit and repayment period can be structured to help meet your budget and the length of time you’d like to keep the vehicle.

Polestar Choices, known as Personal Contract Purchase (PCP), is a flexible form of loan where some of the cost is deferred until the end of the agreement in order to provide you with lower monthly payments. The deferred amount is known as the Optional Final Payment.

At the end of the agreement you have three options:

• Retain the car: simply pay the Optional Final Payment and the agreement is complete.
• Return the car: there's nothing more to pay if the car is in good condition and within the agreed mileage terms.
• Renew the car: choose another car, using any excess part exchange value that is above the Optional Final Payment towards your deposit.
