We’re in the business of redefinition here at Polestar. Redefining performance to be about more than just straight-line acceleration. Redefining the retail experience with spaces staffed by non-commissioned product experts. And so on.

So when it came time to find a location for our headquarters, we decided to redefine what was once a boring office building into a place where pure, progressive thinking could find a home.

Together with kindred spirits Bornstein & Lyckefors, we drew up plans to reimagine the unforgivingly drab building on Assar Gabrielssons väg 9 into something that both symbolises our position as the guiding star within the auto industry and communicates our design language.

The result of this collaboration was The Cube, a gleaming white structure adorned with the Polestar symbol. And it’s just been recognised.

The Per & Alma Olsson Fund, Gothenburg’s official architecture prize, has awarded an honourable mention to Polestar for our headquarters. The jury states that “the reborn headquarters of Polestar shines like an exclamation point among the otherwise rather anonymous buildings of the surrounding area,” going on to describe it as “a jewel that demonstrates innovation and creativity.”

It's exceedingly rare that building remodels receive architectural awards. That we won is a testament to both Bornstein & Lyckefors, and the Polestar design vocabulary that The Cube is expressed in.

We’ve redefined a plain grey cube into a shining (and award-winning) beacon of innovation and progression. Business as usual.
