Turn on smart charging to get the lowest rate
Opt for Polestar Energy together with an Intelligent Octopus Go contract, and secure a rate of 7p/kWh between the hours of 11.30 pm-05:30 am¹.
The extra benefit comes when you leave your car plugged in for smart charging throughout the day. Use the Polestar Energy app to schedule a time of departure and preferred charging level (i.e: 80%), and you’ll only be charged 7p/kWh for every time the car charges until you leave.

Smart charge using your solar panels
With the help of a trained algorithm, the green energy produced by your solar panels can also be considered when smart charging your car. No additional hardware is required, and it works with any solar panel installation at home.
Bi-directional charging
With a compatible home charger, your Polestar can function as a home battery. It smart charges when energy rates are lower, then directs that power back to your home (V2H) or grid (V2G) when rates rise. More information about bi-directional charging will be available later in 2025.
Polestar Energy enables a Zaptec charger with Intelligent Octopus Go for smart charging. Zaptec chargers include WiFi connectivity which enables features such as remote charging monitoring, smart charging, software updates, and integration with your smart home³. The Zaptec team will also be able to determine whether your household will benefit from load balancing for a smooth and balanced energy supply.

Energy prices can change hour-by-hour and with Polestar Energy you simply select your departure time, preferred level of charge, and then plug in for smart charging throughout the day when rates are at their lowest. Depending on your contract with your local energy supplier, you may also receive grid rewards that reduce your electricity bill.
