The Vivaldi web browser

In the Baroque period, musicians experimented with new sounds and cadence, pushing the boundaries of musical complexity. In an era driven by innovation, composers like Vivaldi pioneered new techniques that stand as works of art even today. It should come as no surprise then, that the Vivaldi web browser is the pioneering browser now available for the native Android Automotive OS of the ever-evolving Polestar 2.

Polestar releases the Vivaldi web browser for Polestar 2.

Developed especially for Polestar 2 by the Vivaldi team in Norway, the Vivaldi web browser is the first browser available for Android Automotive OS. The full-scale web browser brings extensive browser functionality with tabbed browsing, streaming ability, online shopping and top security measures, right from the driver’s seat*.

Built around flexibility, the app features a built-in ad blocker, tracking protection, privacy-friendly translation tool, notes function, and encrypted sync functionality.

“It’s great that we could answer our owner community’s desire for a browser with Vivaldi as a Christmas present,” says Thomas Ingenlath, Polestar CEO. “Now there is a whole new world of web content you can explore in Polestar 2, even some of your favourite streaming platforms.”

The app debut continues our consistent improvement and streamlining of the Polestar experience and follows the performance software upgrade released for Polestar 2 in late November via an OTA update.

The Vivaldi browser is available for free download as an app in the Google Play Store in all European, North American and certain Asia Pacific markets**.

We’re spearheading a movement for cutting-edge infotainment, determined to provide our customers with a new era of infotainment. And one doesn’t need to be a fan of 18th century baroque composers to appreciate the technical gem the Vivaldi team has engineered.

*Some restrictions may apply. For example, files cannot be downloaded, and the browser can only be used when parked. To ensure safety, streaming content will continue with audio only if driving commences.

**Not for China or South Korea.
