The Polestar 2 builds on more than 90 years of groundbreaking safety research by the Volvo Car Group. It comes equipped with the latest in protective and preventive technology, ready to intervene when needed.

Thanks to its multiple radar and camera units, the Polestar 2 is very aware of its surroundings. The Safety Assistance suite of driver aids uses this awareness to anticipate possible collisions, warn the driver and intervene with brake and steering input if necessary.

The front of the car’s body is designed to absorb energy in the event of a head-on collision, as an engine would in an internal combustion engine car. This helps to reduce the risk of injury to the passengers, as well as battery pack deformation.

Pioneered by the Volvo Car Group, side airbags have led to a major improvement in impact protection. The Polestar 2 features the latest version of these airbags, complementary to the regular ones. Integrated into the inner sides of the front seat backrests, they offer individual protection to the driver and the front passenger, reducing the risk of injury when the car is hit from the side.

Although the battery pack of the Polestar 2 is inherently safer than gasoline in conventional vehicles, the car’s structure and protective features reduce the risk of damage even further.

In today’s world, you don’t need to be loud to get noticed. The Polestar 2 helps to make the lives of pedestrians and cyclists safer by emitting recognisable and unobtrusive sounds, letting them know that the car is approaching.

Preventative, adaptive, aware. The Pilot lite pack further enhances the Polestar 2’s safety features with Pilot Assist, Adaptive Cruise Control, 360º camera visibility and more.
