Polestar is proud of the positive reception received by our 2+2 electric roadster concept, Polestar O₂. The response to our decision to bring the concept to life as the Polestar 6 LA Concept edition has been equally overwhelming, with every build slot quickly reserved. However, you can still join our build slot waiting list for this exclusive launch edition, which has an expected release date in 2026.

Polestar 6 will take the design language established by Polestar Precept further, creating a new premium performance paradigm as an all-electric roadster. A unique two-door convertible that merges art with technology. Lower the roof to experience pure performance, without the noise.

The first 500 production cars are to become available as the exclusive, numbered Polestar 6 LA Concept edition. Features include custom-designed 21” alloy wheels, the unique Sky exterior colour (other colours available), special bodyside graphics and a distinctive, animal welfare-traced leather interior.

To free performance from the constraints of the combustion era, we set out to redefine the sports car. The result was Polestar O₂, the concept that is inspiring Polestar 6.

The Polestar Oexterior was clearly influenced by aerospace design, both aesthetically and aerodynamically. Rather than resort to outlandish wings or spoilers, Polestar O₂ features integrated aero ducts in the wheel arches and rear lights that double as air blades.

Polestar O₂, the electric roadster concept, doesn't just exist to create desire (though it certainly does). It exists to show that there's a new paradigm when it comes to the sports car. One that proves that the premium choice, the fun choice, and the sustainable choice are one and the same. Polestar CEO Thomas Ingenlath and Head of Design Maximilian Missoni discuss it in this video.

Stiff, responsive, and incredibly light. The unibody of Polestar O₂ is made from different grades of anodised aluminium, bonded by adhesive and oven cured, with a highly favourable strength-to-weight ratio. Apart from enhancing the performance, the bonded aluminium allows for more design flexibility, catering to different wheelbases while maintaining the precision and detail-obsessed focus which is a Polestar hallmark.

Only a tiny share of the aluminum used in cars is recycled back to its original quality, while the rest is downcycled. Polestar O₂ tackles this issue with an elegantly simple solution: labeled aluminum.

The interior of the Polestar O₂ takes all the advancements made with Precept and applies them to a roadster. It features a contextualised infotainment system that adapts to the driver’s movements, woven flax composite panels, 3D knit upholstery, and other sustainable material innovations. Paired with carefully curated colour combinations, it elevates comfort to a new level.

Soft material in different components

No separation. No waste. No loss of properties. Using a single material base to manufacture complex interior components allows for a premium look and feel without compromising recyclability.

2. In Europe all electric vehicles are measured against a standardized metric for range. The Worldwide Harmonized Light Vehicle Test Procedure (WLTP) measures the range of a car travelling at an average speed of 30mph in summer temperatures from a 100% to 0% state of charge. The actual range achieved under real conditions varies depending on driving behaviour and other external factors. The certified WLTP range is therefore normally not achievable in real life.
