Disabling electronic stability control

You can partially disable electronic stability control for a more active driving experience.

Electronic stability control1 can be turned on or off via the centre display. When it's turned off, electronic stability control is still active to a certain extent for safety reasons but it will intervene less. This can give you a more active driving experience as more control is transferred to the driver. Electronic stability control will still intervene and help the driver in many scenarios.

Turning electronic stability control off activates the sport mode. This can also be useful for off-road driving, or if the car is stuck in mud or deep snow.

When electronic stability control is deactivated, the stability system off symbol is shown in the driver display.
