Automatic speed limiter

The automatic speed limiter can help you avoid unintentional speeding. When it's active, the car alters the pedal response when you exceed the speed limit.

When the automatic speed limiter is enabled in settings, it automatically activates when you are driving on a road with a known speed limit. It can gradually reduce the response from the accelerator pedal or provide light regenerative braking. These two responses help nudge you down to the current speed limit. You can always override the speed limiter by pressing the accelerator pedal down further.

 Note

Replacing speed limit sound alerts

Whenever the automatic speed limiter is active during driving, it temporarily disables sound alerts for exceeding the speed limit.

To use the speed limiter, it needs to be enabled in settings.

Conditions and limitations

The automatic speed limiter uses road sign information to keep track of the speed limit. If information about the speed limit is unavailable for some reason, the automatic speed limiter is disabled.

 Important

Driver responsibility

The automatic speed limiter feature is a supplement to safe driving practices and cannot handle all traffic, weather or road conditions. It does not reduce or replace the need for the driver to stay attentive and focused on driving safely. It is the driver's responsibility to observe and maintain a legal and safe speed.
