Polestar 5 is as unique as the ingredients found within. Core elements such as the Polestar Performance Architecture are engineered and developed in-house, taking the distinct driving characteristics found in all Polestars to a new dimension.

Polestar Performance Architecture
Developed in-house, the Polestar Performance Architecture is made of anodised, high-strength aluminium that is bound by heat-cured adhesive. This enables the superior body control, controlled energy absorption, and torsional rigidity unique to the performance Grand Tourer.

Polestar PX2
Perfect torque delivery. Optimal slip control. The PX2 rear electric motor is developed in-house to create the performance that defines Polestar 5. With the 800 V battery architecture and for specific configurations, it can deliver up to 450 kW of power and 660 Nm of torque for an exceptional drive.
“From Concept to Car”
What began as Precept comes to life as Polestar 5. Finely tuned to become the purest of Polestars, the performance Grand Tourer’s unique attributes are realised through in-house development expertise in both Sweden and the UK, and tested in extreme climates around the globe.
GT driving
Polestar 5 may accommodate up to five adults and their luggage, but it possesses the speed of a sports car and the endurance for engaging, long-distance cruising. Pure, progressive performance meets grand touring at its core.
Power

Aerodynamics
Polestar 5 is a performance Grand Tourer in every sense of the term. Aerodynamics included. It’s nimble on turns, swift on acceleration, and efficient over long stretches. Flush glazing and door handles, the low, sweeping roofline, and the active grille shutters are among the many the design features the Grand Tourer uses to move with finesse.
Silhouette
A low, 142 cm roofline creates the sleek silhouette of the performance GT, while the active grille shutters lend sophistication to overall design and efficiency. The blistering speed and responsive handling of Polestar 5 become clear with just a single glance.
Low position
Polestar 5 sits wide and low for optimal aerodynamic performance, a well-proven formula shared with only the best Grand Tourers. This position contributes to superior handling, grip, and high-speed stability.
Rear light bar
Spanning the width of the rear-most edge with vertical profiles that create its sharp corners, the rear light bar of Polestar 5 is a signature design element that optimises airflow at speed. Its shape assists the Grand Tourer in staying grounded during high performance situations.
Active grille shutters
The active grille shutters cut through passing air, shifting positions based on travelling speed, ambient temperatures, and system cooling requirements.
Performance features
Polestar 5 is equally at home cruising on the motorway as it is sprinting laps on the track. The performance Grand Tourer rewards the driver even under the most demanding circumstances, thanks to its cutting-edge racing technology.

MagneRide adaptive dampers
The four MagneRide dampers contain magnetised fluid, which instantly changes viscosity in response to the road surface. The driver can select between three settings to adjust the ride quality of Polestar 5, allowing the Grand Tourer to match even the toughest performance situations.

Michelin tyres
Countless hours in collaboration with Michelin were aimed at bringing out the most performance in Polestar 5. The result is a tyre customisation that spans from compounds to liners, sidewall strength, and more. The experience is a perfected balance of rigidity, grip, and driver feedback.
Forged wheels
Forged wheels are pressed rather than cast, offering greater strength and rigidity, while allowing for more intricate dealing than their alloy counterparts. The staggered wheel set up for Polestar 5 utilises wider wheels on the rear axle for even better handling and road contact.

Brembo brakes
Iconic in the world of motorsport, Brembo is synonymous with high performance brake technology. The ventilated discs and four-piston front callipers give consistent stopping power in all conditions and temperatures, even during repeated braking under load.
Swedish gold brakes included with Performance.
Thermal systems
While Polestar 5 is in motion, air enters a cooling system of vulcanised, thermoplastic hoses. They weigh 40% less than traditional materials while optimising the Grand Tourer’s battery cooling capacity, improving overall range and performance.
