Polestar Design Contest 2020: the final phase

There can only be two.

The inaugural Polestar Design Contest saw an avalanche of high-quality submissions from all over the world. From unique takes on personal mobility solutions, to entire ecosystems designed around future transportation infrastructure, the creativity and ability on display was amazing.

At the end of each phase, the jury had to do the (almost) impossible: select those designs, by both professional and student designers, which ticked all the boxes and merited progression to the next phase. The contest only got more grueling as it progressed. And with the bar so high already, the slightest misstep meant elimination.

In other words, to have even progressed beyond the first phase of the contest was an incredible achievement. It’s not inaccurate to say that they’re all winners.

To be more accurate, however, there are two winners. Two designers whose creations went above and beyond both the creative brief and the expectations of the jury. That stood head and shoulders above an already elevated field of competitors. Whose work will be transformed into hard models to be displayed at the first annual Polestar Design Exhibition, held in Polestar Headquarters in Gothenburg, Sweden.

And we’ll announce them on November 12th.
