Semiconductor shortage
FAQ
Due to the global shortage of semiconductors from suppliers, the following features in the Pilot Pack have been changed:
• Pixel LED headlights with bending and adaptive high beam functionality have been replaced with standard full LED headlights with active high beam functionality
• Welcome & farewell light sequences have been replaced with fade in/ out animation
Changes affect Polestar 2 cars produced with the Pilot Pack after week 12 2022 (week of 21 March 2022), for all markets except US and Canada. Affected customers with pending orders will be contacted directly after week 11 2022 (week of 14 March 2022) and have the price of the Pilot Pack reduced by EUR 1000. A EUR 1000 price reduction will also apply to the new Pilot Lite Pack price.
Pilot Pack prices will be adjusted for affected leasing companies, including the leasing companies we partner with to offer private lease products.
We have no confirmed timing for this right now. However, you will be contacted as soon as there is a possibility to retrofit the hands-free tailgate foot sensor. It will require the current semiconductor shortage in the world to settle.
As soon as we have enough required parts to start retrofitting the cars delivered without the foot sensor, we will contact you directly and assist you with booking a visit at one of our service points. We are unfortunately not able share specific timings at this point, as the global semiconductor shortage is a situation beyond our control .
