Can you equip Polestar 2 with a tow bar?

Yes, tow bar will be an option during the final stages when placing your order. It is also possible to retrofit the tow bar after delivery.

Can I take my car to a Polestar space for service?

Accepted Answer

Our Polestar spaces are purely retail environments and not equipped to perform service or maintenance. However, staff at Polestar spaces are happy to help you book an appointment at a nearby service point.

Parking climate and max defroster turns off when I get up from the driver seat to remove ice and snow from the car. How do I turn them on again?

Accepted Answer

Use the climate menu in your Polestar 2 to turn on parking climate and to keep it running while away from the driver seat. This cannot be activated if the car is in active mode. Parking climate can be turned on for 30 minutes at a time. Please note that the max defroster cannot run at the same time as parking climate. You can also set climate timers or activate the climate from the Polestar app before arriving to the car.

What is a Polestar ID?

A Polestar ID is a user account tied to the e-mail address you provided when placing your order. An e-mail with an activation link will be sent to you where you need to confirm your account and update your account password.

Is my Polestar ID created automatically when I order my Polestar?

Accepted Answer

Yes, your Polestar ID is created automatically when ordering your Polestar. You need to activate your Polestar ID within 30 days to be able to proceed with your order. This is done by clicking the link in the message which is sent to your provided e-mail address.

Why does the car require all keys to be in the vehicle when pairing and what happens if I do not have all my keys?

For security reasons, the car requires all physical keys (the main key(s) and the activity key) to be inside the vehicle when pairing the Polestar app for the first time. This is only required when pairing a primary ‘admin’ device to the car and not for any subsequent pairings. If you do not have all keys in the vehicle, the car will display a notification and the pairing process will not be completed.

My car is charging to 100% even though I set the limit to 80% or another level. Why does that happen?

We are aware that this is happening with a few of our cars. This will not affect your warranty. We are working on a future software update which will solve the problem.

Does the Performance app come pre-installed with the Performance pack?

Accepted Answer

If you order a Polestar 2 Long range Dual motor and opt for the Performance pack, the Performance app does not come pre-installed. However, it can be downloaded for free from the Google Play store and set up in minutes.

How does Polestar Digital Key work?

Accepted Answer

Polestar Digital Key is a smart, convenient replacement for the traditional car key. An encrypted digital key is stored securely in the owner’s phone, which communicates with the car using an encrypted Bluetooth connection. In Polestar 2, the digital key enables many personalised settings for the driver. Polestar 2 is still provided with a standard key fob for peace of mind.

Why is Polestar 2 Single motor now RWD instead of FWD and why is it not applicable from the start of production of Polestar 2?

We are constantly working to improve our products and with the next generation electric motors we have made the switch to RWD. The CMA platform was originally engineered for a front-wheel drive setup, but we worked hard to make the change to RWD. As this is new hardware, it cannot be fitted to existing cars.

Can I change my FWD single motor to get RWD on the same car?

What are the benefits from changing to RWD?

Accepted Answer

Going from FWD to RWD elevates the driving experience to a new level, resulting in a more playful car but at the same time one that feels more mature and with added comfort. The compactness, sense of control and powerful nature of the car from today remains.

With the new update of the front of the Polestar 2 MY24 with the SmartZone, what benefits and features does it bring for me as a driver?

You have newly refreshed look to the front of the car. You still have the same camera and, heated radar in the front incorporated into the SmartZone, with text graphics on the mid-range radar inspired by the SmartZone design. Now the Polestar 2 design aligns with Polestar 3.

Why have you moved Digital Key from standard to Plus pack?

For Polestar 2 MY24 onwards, we have taken the decision to move Digital Key functionality to Plus Pack. We have also included several other features from the packs to standard.

Can I purchase an activity key somewhere if I want it for my car?

Accepted Answer

Yes, the activity key will be possible to purchase in Extras webshop at a later stage.

If I order a car without Plus Pack, will I still get the car control functions in the Polestar App for my car?

Accepted Answer

Yes, the Polestar App is standard on all Polestar 2 cars. Only Digital Key functionality is moved from standard to Plus Pack.
