Melbourne Football Club and Polestar continue driving progress in AFLW

When Polestar joined Melbourne Football Club ahead of the 2025 AFLW season, we became the first automotive partner dedicated to the womens’ league. One year on, that commitment continues. Polestar returns as Co-Principal Partner and Official Automotive Partner of Melbourne's AFLW team, reinforcing a shared belief in challenging convention to drive progress.

Having the support of a forward-thinking partner like Polestar is incredibly valuable for our AFLW program and reflects the growth and strength of women's football.
Tim Clarke – Chief Growth Officer, Melbourne Football Club

Polestar and Melbourne's AFLW program share a mindset shaped by a willingness to do things differently.

A pioneer in what is now the AFLW, the Melbourne Demons remain at the forefront of supporting talented sportspeople on the field, regardless of their gender.

As women's sport continues to grow in participation and impact, Polestar remains committed to supporting that momentum. We believe progress happens when potential is backed with action, and recognise the AFLW represents one of the most exciting growth opportunities in Australian sport.

To mark the partnership renewal, several Melbourne AFLW players, including captain Kate Hore, travelled to the MCG in a fleet of custom-branded Polestar 4 coupés ahead of their season launch. Chauffeured by Melbourne supporter Broden Kelly, they arrived in style to show their support, stepping out for the club's well-known “tunnel fit checks”, bringing AFLW into one of the club's most visible pre-game rituals and celebrating the connection between the men's and women's programs.

At Melbourne, there is a strong sense of connection across the club. The men's and women's teams regularly support one another, celebrating achievements together and standing together through challenges. That culture of unity has become a defining part of the club's identity.

While the AFLW has made significant strides in recent years, increased investment and support from partners continues to play an important role in enabling the league to grow its audience and influence, which creates more opportunities for players, clubs, and the next generation coming through.

With the partnership renewed and momentum continuing to build, attention now turns to the upcoming AFLW season. Melbourne will begin its 2026 campaign against Hawthorn at IKON Park on Thursday 13 August at 7:15pm, with Polestar proudly featured on the front of the team's guernsey.

As Melbourne prepares for the upcoming AFLW season, Polestar proudly stands behind the team that’s helping to shape the future of the game.
