Activating Plug & Charge

You can activate the feature Plug & Charge in the charging view. This can simplify the charging process, from authentication to billing.
Press the vehicle symbol in the bottom bar and go to Charge.
Go to Plug & Charge.
Turn the function on.

Start your Polestar app and follow the instruction in the app.

If you use a provider that is not a Polestar partner, you can use your vehicle’s unique PCID1 number to activate Plug & Charge. The process and instructions may vary depending on the e-mobility service operator.

Connect your vehicle at a public charging station.
The contract certificate will be installed through the cable, and the authorization and payment are handled by the vehicle and the charging station. You can see the status in the instrument panel and the charge port during the installation.
The charging session starts when the authorization is finished.

 Note

If there are any faults related to Plug & Charge, try to reconnect the charging cable. If it still doesn't work, check the charging settings to see if there is a contract installed for your vehicle. If there is a contract, contact your e-mobility service provider to make sure that there are no issues with the contract. If there is no contract, follow the activation steps again. If the problem persists, try normal charging. Authorize yourself at the charger and follow the instructions in the charging station interface.

If Plug & Charge isn't working after a workshop visit, it could be because the contract certificate was removed from your vehicle. Follow the activation steps again.

You can find your contract certificate under Charging account. If you turn Plug & Charge off after installing a contract, it is disabled and becomes inactive.

If you want to change or remove your contract certificate, press the trash can symbol . To add a new contract certificate, make sure Plug & Charge is on and follow the activation steps again. The most recent contract certificate will always be installed. If you want to delete the account permanently, you also need to cancel the contract with your e-mobility service provider.
