World EV Day 2021

Teams get things done. Whether responding to a crisis or trying to affect change, collaboration and cooperation shorten the timeline towards a shared goal. Teamwork makes the dream work, as they say.

World EV Day is a catalyst for change, with a powerful message about sustainable mobility.

In response to the unfolding global situation that is the climate emergency, Swedish-Swiss firm ABB and sustainability media company Green.TV have launched World EV Day. A day of "global e-mobility appreciation, helping to drive the shift to sustainable road transport and a zero-emissions future". Polestar was a founding member of the inaugural World EV Day on September 9th, 2020. For this year's iteration, Polestar is stepping up its involvement, taking on the role of exclusive sustainability and transparency partner.

World EV Day looks to guide decisions and shape discussions around a zero-emissions future, on consumer, business, and policy levels. A primary push will be engaging with businesses worldwide as to how they plan to drive the change towards more sustainable e-mobility. Testimonials from EV drivers as to why they made the change, and their experiences thus far, will also take centre stage.

This initiative aims to create true momentum, calling on participants from every corner of the planet to help evangelize on behalf of electric driving. Last year saw this message reach an audience of 1.9 billion people. This year, even higher numbers are the aim, with the communication focused across three key areas: education, accessibility, and sustainability.

"World EV Day is a catalyst for change, with a powerful message about sustainable mobility," states Ade Thomas, founder of Green.TV Media, and of World EV Day itself. "As such, I am super pleased to be working, once again, with Polestar, a company who are at the forefront of driving sustainability change in the automotive sector."

Rapid decarbonization of the automotive sector has never been more important. The more voices calling for it, the better. Which is why we're joining the chorus that is World EV Day. After all, teams get things done.

Scandi design meets Sydney Harbour: Polestar’s place at Concours d’Elegance

Concours d’Elegance. From French, the term loosely translates to "competition of elegance," a fitting name for one of Australia’s most prestigious motoring events, celebrating the pinnacle of automotive excellence. Amongst the classic cars on display, a noticeable change is evident. Two cutting-edge electric cars, Polestar 3 and 4, stand in contrast to the vehicles that traditionally populate the event. For Sydney-based industrial designer David Caon, they stand out because they represent the new era of luxury emerging in the automotive space – one that is shifting toward intelligent, sustainable and unique design.
