Powering another car or device with the car's battery

You can use your car's battery to charge another car or an external device.

You can use your car's battery to power other electrical devices, such as electrical camping equipment, power tools and a variety of consumer devices. This feature is called Vehicle-to-Load1 and allows you to transfer AC power from your car to whatever you want to charge, as long as the other device is compatible.

You can also power other electric cars with your car's battery. This feature is called Vehicle to Vehicle2.

The discharging features can be accessed in your car's charging settings. To be able to use the features, you need a special discharging cable. Contact Polestar support for more information.

Important

Before you start using the discharging features, there are some things to consider:

Make sure you use a discharging cable from Polestar. Contact Polestar support for more information.
Make sure you have read any available information about the discharging cable and device to be charged before you use this feature.
Only use the discharging cable under safe conditions, avoiding rain, water or fire. Do not use the discharging cable when it's wet.
Prevent damage to the discharging cable in daily use by removing dust or other substances regularly. Make a habit of checking the cable for dust before using it.
Do not submerge the discharging cable or its components in liquid. If you need to clean the cable, use a clean cloth lightly dampened with water. If needed, use a mild detergent but never use chemicals or strong solvents.
Never use a damaged discharging cable. If the cable is found to be damaged, contact Polestar support.

in the bottom bar and open 能量中心.

Press the charge port symbol

to open the charge port.

Remove any protective covers from the port and cable connector and insert the discharging cable into the charging port.

Set a minimum discharge limit to avoid completely discharging the battery when using it to power other cars or devices.3

Note

You can set a discharge limit between 20-50%. The default discharging limit is 20%. If the battery level is less than 50%, you can set a discharging limit that is 1% less than the battery level. For example, if you have 30% battery level when starting to discharge, the discharge limit is set as 29%.

You can adjust the discharge limit at any time.

Select either 对车放电 or 对设备放电.

Connect the discharging cable to another car or to an external device. The charging options won't be available if the car's battery level is lower than the set discharge limit.

Your car provides power to the other car or device until the discharge limit is reached.

You can also stop discharging by pressing 停止放电 in the centre display.

Note

Do not unplug the discharging cable without releasing it.
