Occupant detection

Your vehicle can detect if there are any passengers left in the vehicle when you lock it.

Detected passengers

By default, your vehicle monitors the vehicle interior for passengers. If it detects that passengers or pets are still in the vehicle after you've locked it, the vehicle alarm will sound. To lock the vehicle without activating the alarm, you first need to set the climate to remain active while parked or activate animal mode.

When you lock the vehicle with passengers still inside, the climate system will stay active and keep the temperature at a comfortable level. If the climate system is about to shut down due to low battery level, the windows will open and the Polestar app will notify you.

 Warning

Polestar recommends that you do not leave people or pets in a locked vehicle. The driver is always fully responsible for the well-being and safety of anyone left inside.

Some regions have laws prohibiting people or pets being left inside a locked vehicle.
