Optimized powertrain
Polestar 1 has a powertrain that is specifically designed to minimize pollutants and maximize efficiency. These powertrains, called Drive-E™ in the Volvo world, have been optimized to be more efficient and pollute less.
Better environment, both inside and out
Polestar's environmental commitment also extends to the inside of the vehicle, which is cleaned by the climate control system. Volvo's Interior Air Quality System (IAQS) consists of an air filter in the air intake for preventing the entry of pollen and dust, along with the vehicle's air cleaning system. The IAQS forms part of the Clean Zone Interior Package (CZIP). It also cleans hydrocarbons, ground-level ozone, and nitrogen oxides from the air in the vehicle's interior. You can even "air out" the vehicle before driving via the Polestar 1 app. The materials used in the interior have been selected for their durability and sustainability and have been tested to ensure that they do not emit any strong odors or other contaminants.
