Information notice – Speech Messaging
In order for Polestar Performance AB ("Polestar," "we") to be able to provide you with all the functionality related to Speech to SMS Messaging, we need to process certain data.
1. Data Controller
Polestar Performance AB, a Swedish legal entity with company registration number 556653-3096 with address Assar Gabrielssons Väg 9, SE-405 31, Gothenburg, Sweden, hereinafter referred to as "Polestar," "we," "us," will as controller process your personal data as further described below.
2. Purpose of data processing
The purpose of the processing of personal data is for Polestar to be able to provide you with the Speech Messaging service, where we use voice recognition to turn your speech into text. Polestar uses a third-party service provider to perform the voice recognition and also to improve the service provider's service.
3. Data categories
3.1 Recorded Speech Data
A recorded voice of the message intended to be turned into text is sent from the vehicle to the cloud.
3.2 Vehicle Identity Number (VIN)
The VIN is used to verify that your car has a subscription for this service.
3.3 Text Message
The text message created by the third-party service provider is stored in the cloud and sent back and saved in your vehicle. The text message can be sent as an SMS.
4. Data sharing
The Recorded Speech data will be shared over the Internet with Polestar's cloud service and forwarded to the third-party service provider. Your Vehicle Identity Number will only be shared between the vehicle and the Polestar cloud. The text message is shared between the third-party service provider and your vehicle.
5. Legal grounds
Polestar is the controller of the above-mentioned data, while the third-party service provider processes the recorded speech data into a text string. The data listed above are processed on the grounds that such processing is necessary in order for Polestar to be able to deliver Speech Messaging.
6. Storing and deleting data
The Vehicle Identity Number will be stored on Polestar's cloud as long as the subscription is active. After the subscription is inactive, the VIN will be deleted after 90 days if this does not conflict with local law. The third-party service provider stores the recorded speech data together with the text message for 90 days.
