The Polestar 5 is the realization of Polestar Precept introduced in 2020. This is our manifesto car. A sports car and grand tourer merged in one with a 4+1 seating configuration. This is a modern GT with a low nose and roofline and a wide stance.
Polestar 5 is our most powerful Polestar to date with up to 650 kW of power and 1,015 Nm of torque. It can accelerate from 0-100 km/h in as little as 3.2 seconds for the Performance version, and has a top speed of 250 km/h (preliminary).
The platform is not shared with other brands or products. Polestar 5 is built on the brand’s first bespoke EV architecture. Developed in-house, the Polestar Performance Architecture (PPA) is made of anodised, high-strength aluminium that is bonded by heat-cured adhesive. This enables the superior body control, increased safety, and torsional rigidity unique to the performance Grand Tourer.
Sales of Polestar 5 started on September 8, with first customer deliveries set to take place early in 2026. As with previous vehicles, we are taking a staggered approach to the launch. The initial launch locations for Polestar 5 will include 23 of our 28 active markets and availability for customers other markets will be announced at a later date.
