Stopping DC charging

You can stop the charging process at any time by pressing the release button next to the charging port. You can also stop charging via the centre display.

 Important

Make sure to stop the charging process before attempting to unplug the cable from the car's charging port. If you do not, you may cause damage to the cable or to the system.

Stop charging by pressing the release button next to the charging socket or by pressing the Stop charging button in the car's centre display.

The charging is stopped and the charging cable's handle unlocks. This may take a couple of seconds.

Unplug the charging cable from the car.
If available, reattach the protective cover on the cable connector.
Reattach the charging port's protective cover and close the charging lid.

 Note

When the charging cable is unplugged from the car, the lid is automatically closed after a short period of time. If you start driving and the charging lid is open, it closes automatically.

However, there are also situations where the charging lid doesn’t close automatically. If you remove the charging cable but the car is in sleep mode and no key is detected close to the car, the charging lid may stay open until the car is woken up.
