  • Help towards installing a home charging point

    The cheapest, easiest and fastest way to charge an electric car at home is to use a dedicated EV charging unit.  The Electric Vehicle Home Charger Grant through the Sustainable Energy Authority of Ireland (SEAI) provides grant funding of up €300 for you to claim towards the cost of installing a charging point at home.

  • Road tax exemption for BEVs

    Pure battery electric vehicles (BEV) like Polestar 2 qualify for the lowest rate of motor tax at €120 per annum.

  • Additional Grants

    SEAI provide a grant of up to €3,500 towards the purchase of new battery electric vehicles (BEVs) for private purchase.

  • Company Cars

    If a company car is also driven for private use (including commuting), the Revenue classifies it as a Benefit in Kind. This means you have to pay tax on it according to the OMV of the car. Fully electric vehicles like the Polestar 2 are eligible for BIK exemptions
