Activating adaptive cruise control

You can activate adaptive cruise control by pressing the adaptive cruise control steering wheel button while driving. It's important to assess whether the current driving conditions allow you to use adaptive cruise control safely.

 Important

Before using adaptive cruise control

Take the time to read everything about adaptive cruise control in this manual before using it for the first time. Understanding its capabilities and limitations is important for safe use.

Assess the situation

Make sure the traffic situation and conditions are suitable for activation. Wait until ongoing manoeuvres, such as a lane change, are completed before activating adaptive cruise control.

Activating adaptive cruise control

When it's safe to do so, press the adaptive cruise control button on the steering wheel once.

Activation is confirmed in the driver display. Your speed at the time of activation becomes the target speed.

If adaptive cruise control is set to adapt to the road's speed limit, it will use the current speed limit as its target speed.

When adaptive cruise control is active, you can adjust the target speed and the time interval to vehicles ahead using the steering wheel buttons.

 Tip

Resume adaptive cruise control

If you recently used adaptive cruise control, you can use the resume button on the steering wheel to activate adaptive cruise control and resume your last settings.

Pressing the resume button when adaptive cruise control is already active sets the current speed limit as your target speed.

Adaptive cruise control symbols

When adaptive cruise control is active, its level of support is shown via symbols and graphics in the driver display.
