Activating hill descent

You can activate hill descent control to allow for a more controlled and active braking.

Hill descent control1 allows your car to automatically apply braking when it detects that you are driving downhill. This can be useful as it can help you in maintaining a low speed and avoid unwanted acceleration. Activating HDC also changes the feel of the accelerator pedal to improve control and traction on slippery surfaces.

 Note

If hill descent control is deactivated while driving on a steep downhill gradient, the automatic braking effect will gradually decrease.

Hill descent control is only available at speeds below 40 km/h (25 mph). Driving at higher speeds automatically disables the feature.

Press the car symbol in the bottom bar and go to Settings.
Go to DriveRaised suspension/Hill descent.
Turn hill descent control on or off.

 Note

Affecting other features

Activating hill descent control affects the availability of other features. One pedal drive is turned off and automatic creeping is enabled by default and cannot be adjusted in settings.

Intended use

Hill descent control is not designed to be used on public roads.
