The seat surfaces in Polestar Precept start out as a single thread of yarn made from recycled PET bottles. It is used to produce a tailored 3D-knit material made exactly to size with no-off cuts, minimising waste without compromising look and feel.

Precept's carpets are made from Nylon 6, a material fashioned from discarded fishing nets. An international collection network provides said nets, meaning a self-perpetuating supply of plastic that could have otherwise ended up in the sea.

Polestar's quest for full-circle sustainability has led us to previously unimaginable suppliers of raw materials. Like the wine industry that provides the waste products from the cork manufacturing process and even whole bottle stoppers, for the cork-based PVC used in Precept's interior.
