The roll-out process for the latest software update may vary as not all software updates are released Over-The-Air. Alternatively, it may also be because your car has already received the latest software package as part of a recent workshop visit, or your car was delivered with the latest software already installed. You will receive future OTA updates whenever they are released.

Yes, you can also receive the latest software from a workshop if the remote update fails. Contact Polestar Support who can help you book your car for the update.

The vehicle functionality included in the app comprises battery SOC, charging status, charging schedule, amp settings, remote climate start, climate timers, remote locking/unlocking, door status, and parking position. These functions will become available in your app once you have paired your device with your car as part of the initial setup process. We are constantly making improvements to the Polestar app.

After the latest software is installed and you have paired your device, there may be a period of time before the cloud side of the functionality is synced with the car. Generally, this sync happens immediately but a delay could be experienced, up to a maximum of 36 hours. If the remote vehicle functionality in the Polestar app is not available immediately after pairing, this could be the cause and we recommend trying again after a few hours. If the problem persists after more than 36 hours, please contact Polestar Support. This issue does not affect the pairing process.

For security reasons, the car requires all physical keys (the main key(s) and the activity key) to be inside the vehicle when pairing the Polestar app for the first time. This is only required when pairing a primary ‘admin’ device to the car and not for any subsequent pairings. If you do not have all keys in the vehicle, the car will display a notification and the pairing process will not be completed.
