Clarifications with Klarén: the climate-neutral car

Zero doesn’t always signify nothing. Zero-emissions cars, for instance, are a big step in the right direction. If it refers to tailpipe emissions, for example, the zero is a major positive for local air quality.

We’re attempting to go one step further. We’ve set the goal to create a climate-neutral car. And we’re attempting to do it by 2030. Yes, we know how soon that is, and how challenging this goal (dubbed the Polestar 0 project), will be to achieve. But we also know how imperative it is that we succeed.

Zeroes, then, can be more than nothing. They can be something to aspire to. Something to strive for. Something to design towards.

Polestar Head of Sustainability Fredrika Klarén clarifies it all above.
