All Polestar 3 vehicles to get new, more powerful NVIDIA core computer

Complimentary core computer upgrade coming for all existing Polestar 3 owners and pre-configured vehicles available for delivery, to provide customers with the same new core computer that comes as standard in the 2026 Polestar 3.

Polestar 3 is already one of the most advanced electric SUVs on the road, underpinned by the Superset tech stack and SPA2 platform developed by our partner Volvo Cars. The Superset is enabled by core computing, which means Polestar 3 runs from a central computing system. At its heart sits the world’s first computer module from NVIDIA that is designed specifically for autonomous machines with performance that is critical to next-generation robots, making Polestar 3 our most capable vehicle yet in terms of computing power.

This technology is advancing so rapidly that a decision was made to upgrade the core computer to the new, more powerful NVIDIA DRIVE AGX Orin processor, to deliver even greater computing power for the 2026 Polestar 3 – and this new processor will also come as a complimentary upgrade to all existing Polestar 3 vehicles on the roads and pre-configured cars that are available for delivery.

The new Orin processor will deliver a leap in processing power from 30 to 254 trillion operations per second (TOPS). The more than eight times increase in computing power will enable faster, more intelligent management of active safety systems, battery performance, and sensor data.

This free upgrade for all existing Polestar 3 vehicles will enable faster performance and unlock new features for customers in the future
Gerry Yang, Chief Technology Officer at Polestar

“Polestar 3 is engineered for the future and to provide functional growth over time," says Gerry Yang, Chief Technology Officer at Polestar. "This free upgrade for all existing Polestar 3 vehicles will enable faster performance and unlock new features for customers in the future, reflecting our commitment to continue improving our products and deliver the best possible ownership experience.”

In addition to hardware upgrades, Polestar continuously works with over-the-air software updates (OTA) to deliver improvements and add new features to its vehicles. Thanks to the centralised core computing system, Polestar 3 offers even greater possibilities for comprehensive vehicle updates.

New features that have already been introduced this way include the smart schedule for charging, an advanced digital key, and the music listening experience Abbey Road Studios Mode for the Bowers & Wilkins audio system. These are just a few examples of how OTA updates help Polestar vehicles evolve over time, with more features and improvements to come.

For those considering a Polestar 3 as their next vehicle, there’s never been a better time to make the move. Pre-configured Polestar 3 vehicles are available for delivery and will offer customers the same cutting-edge core computer technology as the 2026 model, so customers can buy with confidence knowing their Polestar 3 will keep evolving and improving over time.

Note: The complimentary core computer upgrade will cover all existing Polestar 3 vehicles, including pre-configured cars available for delivery. The hardware change will start in the beginning of 2026 and be performed at a Polestar authorised service point. Customers will be contacted to book a time to have the NVIDIA DRIVE AGX Orin processor fitted.

The Polestar 3 continues to evolve — faster, smarter, and always up to date. Discover pre-configured cars available for delivery here.
