The roll-out process for the latest software update may vary as not all software updates are released Over-The-Air. Alternatively, it may also be because your car has already received the latest software package as part of a recent workshop visit, or your car was delivered with the latest software already installed. You will receive future OTA updates whenever they are released.

Yes, you can also receive the latest software from a workshop if the remote update fails. Contact Polestar Support who can help you book your car for the update.

After the latest software is installed and you have paired your device, there may be a period of time before the cloud side of the functionality is synced with the car. Generally, this sync happens immediately but a delay could be experienced, up to a maximum of 36 hours. If the remote vehicle functionality in the Polestar app is not available immediately after pairing, this could be the cause and we recommend trying again after a few hours. If the problem persists after more than 36 hours, please contact Polestar Support. This issue does not affect the pairing process.

The Eco Climate function reduces the energy demanded by the climate control system by reducing output. This means that the climate control system may take longer to cool or heat the passenger compartment, with the direct benefit of increasing usable battery capacity and thus increasing range. It can be activated and deactivated as you wish.

This function is activated when you have a DC fast-charging station programmed into Google Maps. This lets the car know you are heading for a fast charge, and it knows how long it will take you to reach the charger. The car can then heat the battery to the optimal temperature to maximize charging efficiency for the quickest possible charge.

Earlier in the year, we released battery preconditioning when the car is plugged into an AC charger. This function preconditions the battery for optimal efficiency towards the end of the charge cycle when you are charging above 80%. We have now linked this function to the climate timer as well. Typically, you will have set the climate timer to precondition the car in time for your journey, and now the battery can be preconditioned according to the same time scale.

The vehicle functionality included in the app comprises battery SOC, charging status, charging schedule, amp settings, remote climate start, climate timers, remote locking/unlocking, door status, and parking position. These functions will become available in your app once you have paired your device with your car as part of the initial setup process. We are constantly making improvements to the Polestar app.

The ultra-wideband key can be charged on the wireless charger in the car, or on a QI-certified wireless charger of your choice. You are able to see the key battery status in the centre display in your Polestar 3 when the key is located in the passenger compartment.
