Driving across Canada in the middle of winter isn’t a typical road trip, but for Stevens Dorcelus, it was the perfect way to see what a pre-owned Polestar 2 could really do. Spanning icy coastlines, mountain passes, snowstorms, and nearly 6,000 kilometers of open road, the journey became a real-world test of range, comfort, and resilience. What he found was more than capability, it was confidence, performance, and moments of quiet beauty along the way.

What kind of terrain and conditions did you encounter on your route, and how did the Polestar 2 handle them?

We crossed just about everything. Icy roads in the Maritimes, mountain passes in British Columbia, open highways in the Prairies, and even two full-on snowstorms. Through it all, the Polestar 2 handled beautifully. The stability, traction, and overall driving confidence were impressive, especially considering we were already at 60,000 km on the odometer.

What did you learn about charging across long distances that you didn’t know before this trip?

What surprised me the most was how well the charging network has evolved, especially when paired with Google Assistant. The car made it easy to plan stops, and it removed a lot of the anxiety I expected to feel on such a long trip. Long-distance EV travel is much more accessible than I thought.

What was your most memorable moment in the Polestar 2 during the trip?

Driving through the mountains in British Columbia at sunset, the view was absolutely breathtaking. There was a quiet, cinematic magic to it. It was one of those moments where everything aligned: the road, the light, the music, and the feeling of freedom.

How did the Polestar 2 perform compared to what you expected going into the trip?

Honestly, it exceeded my expectations. I knew it would be a solid EV, but the comfort, power, and precision made it feel like a true driver’s car, even after thousands of kilometers. It was more than capable; it was enjoyable every step of the way.

Now that you’ve driven across Canada in a Polestar 2, how would you describe the experience to someone considering one?

It’s the kind of car that turns long drives into experiences. If you're considering making the switch to electric, the Polestar 2 proves that you don’t have to compromise on performance, design, or practicality. It redefines what a road trip can feel like.
