Dashcam app
Your vehicle is equipped with an exterior-facing camera linked to the dashcam app. The app can be used to record videos and take pictures of what is happening outside of the vehicle.
You can record videos and take photos of the outside of your vehicle using the exterior-facing camera via the dashcam app. The dashcam app is accessed via the app library .

Make sure that you can legally use the dashcam
In some regions, using a dashcam or recording public roads is restricted or even prohibited. Before using the dashcam, make sure that you check local laws and regulations regarding dashcam use, as well as public recordings and photographs. You must comply with these laws and regulations at all times.
Your dashcam data
Recordings and photographs taken by the dashcam are stored on a memory card in the glove compartment. The dashcam data isn't stored in your vehicle's system or in the cloud. Polestar does not have any access to the dashcam data.

Privacy policy
Before you can use the dashcam app, you must read and accept the privacy policy. This is shown the first time you open the app.

The dashcam app gets information from the exterior-facing camera to make photos and recordings of the road ahead.

Emergency recording
If your vehicle detects an emergency situation, the dashcam app can automatically start an emergency recording of the road ahead. This can be helpful. as it can provide information on the events leading up to and during the emergency situation. Events that trigger emergency recording include collisions, emergency braking or urgent safety interventions from your vehicle.
Emergency recordings can be triggered in emergency situations even if you haven't used the dashcam app before or accepted the privacy policy.
If an emergency recording is started, a message will show in the center display.
Dashcam system malfunctions
If the dashcam system malfunctions, a message will show in the center display. Malfunctions can occur if camera conditions are not met and can also occur due to technical errors or memory card errors. The message in the center display typically conveys the suspected reason.
