Safety

As the Polestar 2 has no internal combustion engine roaring under its bonnet, the sound designers had the opportunity to create a unique sonic signature. The result of their work is the Acoustic Vehicle Alert System (or AVAS). It generates subtle, recognisable sounds that help the car make itself heard in a pure Polestar way, increasing safety for pedestrians and cyclists.

Each sound coming from AVAS is unique without being jarring. Its purpose is to be a distinctive addition to the soundscape of the outside world, letting people know that the Polestar 2 is approaching in an unobtrusive way.
