The absence of a rear window in the Polestar 4 is a design feature first unveiled in the Precept concept car, and we've actualised it in the Polestar 4. By eliminating the rear window, we were able to extend the rear header and expand the panoramic glass roof behind the rear passengers. This design creates an incredibly spacious and bright interior environment, enhancing headroom.
The rear-view mirror has been replaced by a high-definition screen that provides a live camera feed from the car's roof. This screen can also transition to a traditional mirror mode if the driver needs to check on the rear occupants. A key advantage over conventional mirrors is the unobstructed view it provides - no rear headrests or passengers interfere with the expansive rearward view. While this might require a bit of adjustment initially, users find it becomes second nature after a short time.
