By nature, an electric car has a safety advantage over conventional cars because of its power source. The Polestar 2 increases that advantage by adding several protective features to safeguard the battery pack in the event of an accident.
By nature, an electric car has a safety advantage over conventional cars because of its power source. The Polestar 2 increases that advantage by adding several protective features to safeguard the battery pack in the event of an accident.
To reduce the chance of objects heading for the battery in a partial-offset collision, the frame of the Polestar 2 is equipped with a Severe Partial Offset Collision block on either side. Furthermore, the battery pack is contained within a steel and aluminum structure that also improves the car's rigidity.
If the Polestar 2 detects that the car has been in a collision, its advanced safety technology will immediately take action. The battery pack's high-voltage system is automatically disconnected from the rest of the car, significantly reducing the risk of damage to the circuitry.
Add the Pilot pack for 360º camera, Blind Spot Information System with steer assist, and more.
