Stop without touching the brakes

Although the Polestar 2 comes with two pedals, in most daily driving situations the right foot can stay where it is. By switching on one-pedal drive, releasing the accelerator brings the car to a halt, reversing the torque direction of the electric motors and activating the disc brakes when necessary.

A more efficient use of energy

Instead of wasting energy, the Polestar 2's regenerative braking system converts it back into power that can be used to extend the car's range.

One-pedal drive to suit your needs

Using just one pedal to speed up or slow down the car quickly becomes second nature. To add to the convenience, the Polestar 2 offers the option to adjust the braking intensity to your personal taste and needs. Choose "Low" for more coasting on the highway, "Standard" for more stopping power in busy city traffic, or "Off" if you prefer to drive with two pedals.

Recharge while slowing down

When regenerative braking is active, releasing the accelerator or pressing the brake pedal will reverse the torque of the electric motors. This not only slows the car down but also turns the motors into generators, able to recharge the battery pack. As a result, the system turns every speed reduction into useful energy instead of just useless heat. So stopping the Polestar 2 actually enables it to go further.
