Forget fiddling with your phone: the Polestar 2 runs native apps that effortlessly add new dimensions to everyday life.
Google apps and services explained
Google apps and services is Google Play, Google Maps and Google Assistant. They run on the Polestar 2 infotainment system, which allows them to integrate directly with the car. If your battery needs topping up, you can ask Google Maps to show suitable charging stations along your route. And if you feel like changing the mood you can browse Google Play and download a new media app. The Polestar 2’s sound system enables optimised audio whether you’re streaming music, radio or a podcast. Thanks to Google Assistant, you can access all these features via voice control.
Worry-free connectivity
For the first three years, all the internet data your Polestar 2 uses is included in the car’s purchase price. So you can navigate, stream music, and ask Google whatever you like without worrying whether you’ve got enough data left in your bundle.
Always up to date
In the near future, regular over-the-air (OTA) updates will keep your car up to date and fully future-proof. Your car will notify you when it’s ready to install an update, so you can schedule it for a convenient moment, just like you do with your smartphone. We recommend updating your car when it’s plugged in and charging overnight. Google takes care of updating its own systems like Google Assistant, Google Maps, and Google Play.
Discover the in-car apps
The Polestar 2 runs a lot of media apps you might recognise from your smartphone, optimised for the in-car experience. And with three years of unlimited internet connectivity, there’s no ceiling to the streaming. Keep checking the Google Play Store for new apps like EasyPark that makes parking your car as intuitive and hassle-free as driving it.
Go hands-free with Google Assistant
Now for the fun part: voice control. Google Assistant gives you convenient control of smart features without taking your hands off the wheel. From hands-free messaging to climate control. Voice-controlled navigation to streaming music. Leaving you free to focus on the exhilarating driving experience.
Works with Android and iPhones
As well as utilising the Polestar 2’s native Android Automotive OS, you can also connect your iPhone or Android smartphone via Bluetooth to sync your contacts and make in-car phone calls. And if you’re signed in to the same media service on both your phone and your car, you can enjoy seamless playback, picking up on one where you left off on the other.
An open platform
As well as informing and entertaining drivers and passengers, the Polestar 2 also gives app developers the opportunity to create new features and services. Anyone can build an app to run on Android Automotive OS, which is an open platform with strong, multi-layered security built-in to protect everyone who uses it.
