Home charging—There’s no place like home

It enables you to cover your daily driving needs as well as preparing you for any unforeseen or last-minute journeys by simply plugging in overnight and topping up during the day. When your car is plugged in, you can also pre-climatise your vehicle with energy directly from the grid. You can either choose to charge your electric car at home through installing a home charging point and therefore benefiting from faster charging speeds and built-in safety features or you can charge from a normal AC socket - please check with a licenced electrician first. If choosing to install a dedicated home charger, you can benefit from the government OLEV grant.

Home chargers for Polestar 1 and Polestar 2

Both the Polestar 1 and Polestar 2 can be charged with up to 11kW using a type 2 charging connection (CCS2). They can both handle 1-phase charging up to 7kW and with a 3-phase connection the full 11kW. The charging equipment should follow the European Charging Standard IEC 61851 and 62196. It is possible to safely connect the car to a higher-output station, but the maximum charging capacity remains at 11kW.

Two charging cables included for Polestar 2:

• Charging cable Mode 3, type 2 to type 2, 16A, 3-phase, 4,5m
