Polestar, the performance brand of Volvo Car Group, has appointed Tim Heldmann as Vice President, Global Marketing and Brand Management, reporting to CEO, Nick Connor.
Heldmann joins Polestar on 1 June 2017 from Red Bull having spent most of his career in global marketing and brand roles in the FMCG sector.
Initially at Procter & Gamble with their Gillette and Wella brands, Heldmann has spent nearly six years with Red Bull’s Global Brand Management division, most recently as Global Head of Consumer Insights & Initiative Management with responsibilities for Brand Strategy, Market Research, Product Marketing / Innovation Management, Marketing Data Analytics and Consumer Pricing.
Announcing the appointment, Nick Connor commented; “I’m delighted to welcome Tim to Polestar’s management team. Coming from the world-renowned Red Bull brand, and from outside of the automotive industry, he brings with him a completely different consumer-centric perspective that will be vital to Polestar as it embarks on new and innovative routes to market. He also brings insights and understandings of how to reach broad as well as niche consumer audiences, which will help Polestar develop its fan base as well as its future consumer base.”
Tim Heldmann continued; “The opportunity to steer the Polestar brand at such a transformational time for the company is both exciting and fascinating. Polestar’s awareness within racing and enthusiast audiences as one of the most successful touring car teams and manufacturer of high-performance Volvo cars is undeniable. The task now is to ensure that the awareness of Polestar’s performance-enhancing parts, as well as today’s cars and those that will soon follow, transcends into very different consumer segments. Bringing a ‘consumer first’ philosophy to each of Polestar’s products and services will ensure that we reach those audiences, ultimately enhancing the understanding of the benefits of a Polestar ownership.”
