Polestar announces Performance Pack pricing for Polestar 2 in Europe

  • Tuned to enhance Polestar 2 dynamics for the ultimate in driver engagement
  • Pack includes Brembo brakes, adjustable Öhlins dampers, 20” forged alloy wheels

Polestar 2 is an electric performance fastback, a unique combination of avant-garde design, outstanding digital and convenience specifications and driver orientated dynamics. The 300 kW, 660 Nm electric drivetrain, with all wheel drive and 78 kWh of battery capacity, gives Polestar 2 both performance and range.

The Performance Pack takes the car’s driving dynamics to the next level. Naturally, a complete suite of driver aids continues to help ensure the dynamic drive is also a safe one.

The pack comprises a 4-piston Brembo front brake setup, adjustable Öhlins dampers and 20-inch forged alloy wheels, complemented by gold seatbelts and valve caps.

Pricing1 for the performance pack in Polestar’s European launch markets is as follows, including VAT:

Norway NOK 50,000
Sweden SEK 60,000
Germany EUR 6,000
United Kingdom GBP 5,000

“The Performance Pack allows us to take Polestar 2 driving dynamics to the next level. Some highly specialised additions, tuned by our engineers, deliver an even more engaging and unique Polestar experience,” comments Thomas Ingenlath, Chief Executive Officer of Polestar.

Joakim Rydholm, who is responsible for chassis development at Polestar, says Polestar 2 is a car that wants to be driven. “We spent a lot of time obsessing over the finest details of the Performance Pack chassis set-up to find the car’s sweet spot; we call it the “Golden Ride”. Comfortable but focussed, we want you to feel positively connected to the road, the car alive and communicative, but balanced and predictable. It really is unlike most electric cars. It feels Polestar.”

Reservations are currently possible at Polestar.com where prospective buyers can reserve their place in the queue and guarantee 2020 delivery with a fully refundable deposit2.

With a digital retail model, all Polestar cars will be purchased online and directly from Polestar3. The brand will be opening Polestar Spaces where Polestar Specialists will be able to assist customers with product information and test drives. The first of these inner-city locations will open before the end of 2019, with a total of 50 spaces planned globally by the end of 2020.

Performance Pack pricing for North America and China will follow at a later date.

About Polestar

Polestar is the electric performance car brand jointly owned by Volvo Car Group and Zhejiang Geely Holding. Polestar enjoys specific technological and engineering synergies with Volvo Cars and benefits from significant economies of scale as a result. This facilitates the successful design, development and production of separately-branded, electric performance cars.

Polestar launched in 2017 with the Polestar 1 – a low-volume Electric Performance Hybrid GT with 600 hp, 1,000 Nm and an electric-only range of 150 km – the longest of any hybrid car in the world. In 2019, the Polestar 2 was revealed as the company’s first full electric, higher volume premium car designed to compete around the Tesla Model 3. In the future, Polestar 3 will join the portfolio as a fully electric performance SUV.

Polestar also applies its technology and expertise to electrified Volvo cars. The new Volvo S60, V60 and XC60 T8 Polestar Engineered models feature key Polestar components to create a sharper and more engaging driving experience. Polestar optimisation software upgrades are also available for Volvo models, which enhance six performance areas including engine output. Polestar Engineered media information can be found on the Volvo Cars media website.
