We believe that doing business ethically is the right thing to do. Not just for our business, brand and people, but also for society as a whole. Simply complying with the law is not good enough. So as well as our own code of conduct, we have also created a code of conduct for our business partners, and an anti-corruption policy. Doing business responsibly is up to all of us.
We want everyone at Polestar to be comfortable raising questions or concerns about ethical issues. Our code of conduct lays out in detail the policies and practical steps that we should follow to ensure that we act according to the highest ethical standards. It also underlines the importance of transparent communication, acting with integrity, and taking ownership.
Polestar is committed to responsible business throughout its value chain, and we expect the same level of commitment from our business partners. Our business partner code of conduct covers Polestar’s requirements and expectations when it comes to protecting working conditions and human rights, caring for the environment and doing business with integrity, including a zero tolerance policy for bribery and corruption.
To ensure that our business relationships are based on trust, transparency, honesty and accountability, we don’t allow any form of corruption or bribery. No Polestar employee will face any adverse consequences for refusing to pay bribes and kickbacks, even if it means a loss of business. We also have clear guidelines to help us judge whether gifts, favours or hospitality are offered without any corrupt intent. Our use of blockchain to trace the cobalt we use in our car batteries is also an example of how we actively work with our suppliers against corruption.
