Instant power at any speed

Being able to accelerate swiftly and effortlessly isn’t the only forte of the Polestar 2. As its all-electric powertrain is far less complicated than those found in conventional cars, you have instant power and torque on tap at any given moment.

Being able to accelerate swiftly and effortlessly isn’t the only forte of the Polestar 2. As its all-electric powertrain is far less complicated than those found in conventional cars, you have instant power and torque on tap at any given moment.

A powertrain for every driving situation

There are three different powertrains available for the Polestar 2, making it easy to match the specifications to your personal preferences and driving environment.

Perfectly matched traction

To provide the optimal amount of traction, all three versions of the Polestar 2 have electronically controlled electric motors. Obsessively tuned for various weather conditions and driving environments, they deliver regardless of road surface materials or prevailing conditions.

Overtake with confidence

Because the Polestar 2’s electric powertrain has fewer moving parts, most of the power is actually used for propulsion. Consequently, all versions of the Polestar 2 can reach 100 km/h in under 8 seconds, and instant momentum for overtaking is there at any speed.

High-performance towing capacity

Each version of the Polestar 2 produces enough torque to tow up to 1500 kg. This means that the car can pull more than the weight of a 6 berth caravan, using the optional semi-electric towbar.

* Preliminary data. In Europe all electric vehicles are measured against a standardized metric for range. The Worldwide Harmonized Light Vehicle Test Procedure (WLTP) measures the range of a car travelling at an average speed of 46.5 km/h in summer temperatures from a 100% to 0% state of charge. The actual range achieved under real conditions varies depending on driving behaviour and other external factors. The certified WLTP range is therefore normally not achievable in real life. Please learn more about WLTP here. The rated range displayed on the Energy Consumption label affixed to the car is calculated according to the ADR 81/02 NEDC based standard as defined by UNECE R101/01 (rather than the WLTP), so the range displayed on the label is different to that shown on this page.
