Polestar GB, Limited.  In 2005, Polestar began providing engineering services in the UK as part of the UK Nuclear Decommissioning Authority (NDA) push to decommission excess nuclear facilities at UK sites.  In 2006, Polestar GB was formed to provide a dedicated local presence to the UK nuclear facility operations and decommissioning markets.

Bill Bailey is Managing Director of Polestar GB Limited, and will lead the application of Polestar experience in U.S. decommissioning projects to support projects in the UK.

Polestar GB supported the review of baselines for the NDA in 2005-2006.  Polestar GB also recently completed an assessment of the organization and operation of the Chapelcross Power Station in Southern Scotland, using the Quick Look process, to provide the British Nuclear Group (BNG) with a quick look at the road ahead to transition from Operations to Decommissioning. A similar evaluation was also conducted at the Sizewell B nuclear power station in Southern England.

Polestar is supporting BNG at the Chapelcross Power Station providing transition training, and mentoring support along with lifetime plan development. In the longer term, Polestar GB will combine the resources of personnel form Polestar Applied Technology, Inc. in tandem with experienced staff hired locally in the UK to support, train, transfer the knowledge and experience base.
