Facility Deactivation & Decommissioning (D&D) The practical technical and project management experience Polestar has gained through our DOE complex-wide leadership and involvement allows us to bring the best methods, practices, tools, and lessons learned from across the complex to apply in the planning and execution of future deactivation and decommissioning projects. Polestar provides a wide-range of expertise and experience in facility deactivation & decommissioning (D&D): Polestar also offers the following companion services: Polestar has experts in Facility Deactivation and Decommissioning from Hanford, SRS, INEEL, Oak Ridge, and Nevada Test Site Facilities. Lessons learned, resources and innovative applications from these projects are being applied all DOE sites. Polestar's personnel have extensive and diverse history and D&D experience have made them leaders in the D&D field (D&D Fact Sheet). For example, the Test Cell A Facility D&D Project at the Nevada Test Site (NTS) was completed safely and successfully on July 27, 2005, meeting the performance-based incentive milestone for comletion of the fieldwork and being within 10% of project budget. Working safely was a major objective in the completion of the project evidence by the team's commitment demonstrating no lost-time accidents or incidents during the entire project.For more information contact: |
